ZTreeWin

ZTreeWin
A 32-bit console-mode file manager for Win95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP & Vista. The program is designed to look and function in a manner similar to the XTreeGold program, offering a wide range of disk & file management features in a familiar form.

ZtreeWin can be operated with a mouse, but its unique power has much to to with its highly intuitive interface with the keyboard. Even if you are, like me, a heavy user of graphics/CAD programs, the mouse is still preferably and easily discarded.

It is modelled closely on the powerful text-mode file-manager XTreeGold(tm), but is enhanced to take advantage of today's most popular operating system-Windows (95/98/ME/NT/2K/XP).

The keyboard interface concept is simple- to copy a file, type C; to delete a file, type D; to move a file type M

Get the idea? It aint difficult, rather its wickedly simple!

Of course there is lots more. In fact ZtreeWin has extended, enhanced and improved XTreeGold's functions without losing the familiar look and feel of that classic- which I really appreciate.

Considering its extensive range of functions, ZTreeWin is very small- less than 0.5mb in its latest version- small enough to fit on a floppy

The latest release (1.49) has many enhancements not the least being the user-defined console size up to 400 cols x 200 rows, up from the previous fixed 80 column width and maximum 60row depth. This size can be changed on-the-fly too!

where you will have you answer and more almost immediately, supplied by the cheery band of devoted users niknamed "the ZMEN" The supoort at Zedtek is exceptional also.

The Forum it is also a great place for user tips and macro sharing, not to mention the occasional debate :-)

In short, this is a five star program which I recommend to the occasional user, and power user and anyone in between.

I am a 15 years user of Xtree. When I migrate to Ztree I was expecting to get just the basic features of Xtree. I was amazed with the power and flexibility of the new implementation. It is by far, the best performance/cost ratio that I ever saw in software.
Strictly recommended.

Superb replacement for XtreeGold and built for the latest windows environment. File managing made easy.

This is without undoubt my most used desktop application, and it is extremely rare that I feel the need to use any other filemanager.

Admittedly, at first sight, ZTreewin looks pretty funky, like an archaic exhibit out of a computing history lesson. And like a deep love affair, it takes a little while and patience to learn and appreciate just how fast and powerful the ZTreewin paradigm is. But once hooked, you will never look back.

The best bit is that its author, Kim Henkel, really listens to user feedback so that this great filemanager just keeps getting better.

Absolutely superb! From incremental renaming of files to acting upon multiple files in multiple directories on multiple disks, all at once, Ztree has it all in a file manager. Nothing else comes close. Try it today, and join the user forums for feedback and influence the future of this continually updated and improved product. The author LISTENS and RESPONDS to every question, big or small. I can't say enough good things about this software - you must try it and see for yourself.

Absolutely the best file manager. It continually improves with frequent enhancements. Of all the shareware I have purchased, I am most satisfied with this product.

Excellent piece of software. If you ever got tired of Explorer's limitations, or of endless mouse handlings; this is it. ZTreeWin is rock-solid, faster than hell and offers more possibilities than you ever thought of.
It's really made my life easier since I discovered it replaced XTreeGold years ago!

I have been using ZTreeWin eversince the XTree days and would not be without it. Please would it be possible to include an equivalent of 'refresh' feature in future upgrades? RBV

I really love Kim Henkel for his great Product. So far I bought only two software-products in my life. Ztree and TheBat.
I came across this page, cause i am still developing my own extensions for ztree. I am using win2000.net and it is still the best filemanager around. Love it.

A great product for those of us who think faster with a keyboard than with a mouse. Fast, easy-to-use, and rock solid. The best shareware $$ I ever spent.
